Increase user login security

Howdy!

My question is pretty much straight forward. With user login password hacking software like Konboot and Windows Offline NT password changer, is there any type of defense for this so those types of software cannot be used?

One thing that comes to mind is biometric security. Finger-print readers are readily available for PC's

Also you can try face recognition software that use webcam to unlock computer. With out typing any password.

Using a password > 15 characters will force NTLM usage and avoid the password cracking problem.
