Install new power supply

I'm trying to install a new power supply in my 2005 computer. Abit Fatality AN8. Has ATXPWR1 and ATX12V1, with 24 and 4 pins. Old wiring had 20 and 4 pins. New PS has 24 and 6 pins. Instructions say break off extra pins. Before I do, how do I do it? Thanks.

What is the make and model of the new Power Supply?

That 6 pin connector is for PCI Express. You should break 20+4 and 4+4.

Thanks for your help. It came apart easily once I tried it. Computer is up and running. I am so happy.
