Intel Core i5 10600KF vs 10600

Goodmorning,

I am about to buy this new CPU but I am not sure if take the KF version or the basic one. I will use it for CAD, 3D and some Gaming at 1080p. I am not planning to overclock it so actually I wonder if that K is worth that 40 € more. What do you think?

Thanks :)

Only you know exactly how you value the extra performance. Another factor you might wish to consider is the power draw, though -- the KF version is nearly double the wattage of the basic 10600. Over a few years, that cost will be even more than the price differential of the cpus themselves.

As with Core i3 CPUs, Hyperthreading definitely does help performance in heavily threaded programs, but jumping from a Pentium or Core i3 to a Core i5 will get you a much larger performance bump than jumping from an i5 to an i7.
