I've low-end gamed a lot on Intel iGPUs, mostly Iris Plus. When you look at the performance per watt and per video RAM speed (DDR4 vampire video), Intel's iGPUs do a decent job. I won't rule them out being capable of delivering something in the Radeon 580/GTX 1060 area but I think they'll start even lower, like 560/1050.
Any added competition in the GPU area is a good thing but now that GPU cryptomining is done, I wonder if anything will actually come of this.
