And as a history lesson for you grandpa: the NYSE DL585 G5 had Opteron CPUs from the 8300 series starting with the high clocked 95W 2.2GHz Opteron 8354, one the best and most popular high performance server AMD CPUs you could buy.

Oops again! Those were DL585 Gen 2s with 2.0 ghz 2200 series Opterons ... back when AMD was already selling DESKTOP CPUs clocked at a much higher 3.2 ghz. You've proven my point for me.

The 8300 series wasn't even released until late 2007, months **after** the NYSE completed their conversion to ProLiant servers. Now fast-forward to my link from 2024, and you still see them using slower-clocked (but far higher core-count) CPUs.

BTW, you still haven't explained where you believe the NYSE is secretly designing and building their own "proprietary" CPUs. Somewhere like this, perhaps?
