Intel's ongoing search for a CEO may place diversity as top priority

Would that not be the Board of Directors? I don't see just one person hiring a CEO.
Right. I still say one has to connect with the group as one of the boys or girls, if you will. One still has to fit in even if they are trying to expand their pool. Consequently, when they push too far trying to set some arbitrary example or standard, then they will run into problems and even a disaster.

I always thought it is because Lisa Su is smart, competent and had the right resources. It had nothing to do with her sex.

Of course not, but it ticks the right boxes. :)

I do think that if there's one benefit of going outside the white male box for a CEO is that it can introduce people outside the normal 'gene pool', which could perhaps be good, but I probably think that simply because in general I don't have high regard for managers.

The thing about diversity is its racism.
Not to be a grammar Nazi, but you're really gong to have to specify if that's "its" (possessive pronoun), or, you meant "it is" (pronoun contracted with the sate of being verb "is"). It carries slightly* different meanings.
There is a prejudice that all white straight males are privileged and get more opportunities. That's what I found on self proclaimed feminist channels that I don't want to link to because my vpn service is weird and google can still track me.
The "NoScript" extension for Firefox, carries a script surrogate for "googleanalytics. exe", which may not stop Google entirely, but it should slow them down. Besides, VPN traffic is encoded anyway, as is https.

Also do you guys like my new profile picture?
It's inscrutable and ambiguous as to meaning and-or intent. But I suspect that's what was your intent. As long as you're happy with it that's all that matters..(y) (Y):D
