IRQL + jmcr.sys = persistent BSOD

Hi

I have been experiencing BSOD more and more frequently recently. I have finally decide to ask for help after being unable to fix the issue alone.

I have an Acer Aspire 4736ZG laptop running Windows 7x64

I have attached two minidump files.

The most recent message I got was driver irql not less or equal and jmcr.sys

The message is not always the same though, occasionally I get a paged in a nonpaged fault (something like that anyway...)

If you need any more info please let me know.

Thank you :)

Blue screen of death could be caused by many reasons. This could be due to a virus infection or incompatible drivers. Also it could be hardware faults, for example, dust inside your laptop.
Good Luck :)

Ok thanks for that. So what I have done so far is basically all of the suggestions outline in this article

I can't post links cos Im new here... but the details are:

Troubleshooting Computer Freeze (Lockup) Problems
By Michael Woodford

I have also done the following from that link you sent:
Last Known Good Configuration - done it.
System Restore - done it.

Haven't tried the virus scan in safe mode - I will try that.

Fingers crossed!

Thanks for that link - I hope I don't have to do those things!

I realised that I had only about 10% of each drive free, which I thought was acceptable, but perhaps it wasn't. I was ruthless and cleared out a ton of stuff that I probably won't miss and managed to free up several 10's of GB.

Since doing that I have not had a repeat performance. But I haven't been doing anything too intensive so only time will tell!

I hope this has fixed it - simplest solutions are the best ay?
