Is it a good idea to link my Amazon account up with my Epic Games Store account for free Prime games?

Is it a safe/good idea to link up my Amazon Prime account to the Epic Games Store account that I have just so I can get freebies like the Tomb Raider game this month?

EDIT: Oh, and how can I tell if I've already done this in the past not being as cautious as I am now? Is there a way to tell on either game client?

Privacy concerns? I dont like the idea. It's all bizarre. It seems like they want to know everything you buy but I'm not sure that information would be given by the linking. So, it's just a bizarre request and leaves me wondering what the purpose is for them. What the gain is for them.

Yes, it's generally safe to link your Amazon Prime account to the Epic Games Store for free games and perks, especially since both are reputable companies that prioritize user security. Here are a few tips to keep it secure:

1. Use Strong, Unique Passwords: Make sure you’re using strong, unique passwords for both accounts, ideally with two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, as this is the best way to keep your accounts secure.

2. Limit Permissions: When linking accounts, Amazon typically requests minimal permissions—mainly confirming your Prime status to unlock free games on Epic.

3. Monitor Account Activity: After linking, keep an eye on your account activity just in case of any unusual logins or changes, although these are rare with such connections.

4. Unlink When Done: If you’re only interested in one freebie like the Tomb Raider game, you can always unlink the accounts after redeeming it. This way, you’ll get the free game without leaving your accounts connected longer than necessary.

If you’d like the game but prefer not to link accounts, Epic may have other occasional free offers that don’t require linking to Amazon Prime, so keep an eye out!

I've actually collected several freebies that go directly into the Amazon Games client software. That's one way to bypass the requirement of linking up your 3rd party clients. Of course, that makes about 5 digital content delivery software clients I've installed on my machine now.
