I have never been a Trump fan but what did Trump do with the pandemic?

I remember Trump shutting down travel to China and Biden and the democrat party in general called him a racist for it. But of course it was racism…I mean what isn’t, right? You can always use racism…works every time.

I also remember Biden and Harris saying people shouldn’t take the “Trump vaccine” because they were not convinced it was safe. And I know that there were not enough covid test with the last uptick in cases also. The idea that we would have been better off with Biden in office is completely ridiculous in my view. Personally I don’t think there is anything anyone could have done about covid. You can’t stop it…just needs to run its course.

Trump decided that the pandemic was all China's fault.... and then failed to really do anything...

Which is why the US lost more people to Covid than any other country...

You need to read up on how that ended up. You dont come off well with that comment.

And you have another clash with facts. That is kind of true, but it was way before any vaccine was medically approved. Then we would soon see it is safer than asprin.

Same with cancer. Doesn't mean we can't fight to lessen the effects and keep it at bay.

I hate to break it to you... but your country (and all countries) doesn't operate in a 4 year vacuum... whatever is occurring now tends to spring from what came before.

Trump inherited a prosperous nation and proceeded to spend the next 4 years f*cking it up... there are people who will give great stats saying how "unemployment was lowest in 50 years under Trump".... what they fail to see is that unemployment had been steadily declining for years BEFORE Trump - and that just a couple of years into Trump's administration, it started to RISE...

So now Biden's term has higher unemployment... Is he to blame? Well, a little bit perhaps... but the main culprit would be TRUMP.

I did not mention inflation. That's nice that you took the initiative to try and stick up for Biden though. Of course inflation is more global now that Russia invaded Ukraine. That said inflation was on the rise well before. He may not be the only reason for it but he's not getting a pass either.

But that is one of many issues the US is dealing with right now.

Biden has completely 100% ignored the southern border. People are dying trying to get to the US. Just last week a border control officer drowned saving a woman trying to swim through the river. She lived and he died. But it's out of control and so bad now that even democrats' are turning on him.

But we could talk about the disaster in Afghanistan as well. Or the ridiculous left wing policies that have contributed to crime. And the list goes on....

We could go back and forth all day about the US and it's issues. Different views on the same topic but unlike a lot of people I don't belong to a party. I don't give a crap about Biden or Trump (in fact I hope Trump doesn't run again) or bowing down to a specific ideology. I simply care about the Truth. And the truth is that the Biden administration is a total turd show. And in the midterm elections the democrats' are going to get completely demolished because of it and everyone knows it. There is a good reason for it.

I'm not aware of Elon Musk buying any other social media platform. If Twitter flops then it'll be a lesson learned, not the end of social media. Also, weren't Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook better when they were each controlled by one person before they went public? Now they're all monetized and quality has gone downhill. Obviously being profitable is important to stay in business, but being public corporations have caused them to narrow their vision to the shorter term.

Twitter has no compelling or sustainable advantage that would keep anyone there who didn't want to be. My guess is that in the end, as often happens, the new boss will turn out to be much like the old boss.

I'm not a big fan of Musk but here's my take.

Leftists are upset about two main things.

First, their ability to censor America's public square has taken a huge hit.

Second, censorship is now a fully legitimate weapon to use against the Left. That's because when you use a tactic against your enemy, you implicitly approve its use against yourself. The Left's recent indulgence in massive censorship has shifted the Overton Window. Leftists have legitimized censorship as a political technique against themselves.

Therefore, Leftists would have no reason to complain if Elon Musk brings Trump back. Or he labels Fauci, Obama and Pelosi tweets with "This viewpoint has been flagged as highly dangerous misinformation."

But let's be honest, Musk won't censor the left. He doesn't even censure them. Musk is going to make huge amounts of money on this. Trump had 80 million followers. Lots of those will come back to Twitter, looking for debates with Leftists. It's going to get really hot, but interesting. It may be the best thing for the country.
