Itunes download problems

I am trying to download iTunes 7.6 for my daughter's ipod and I am running into an error stating "Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\...\{59C4F14F-7590-45FC-BE9F-A67AB3590709}. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel." Can anyone please tell me what I need to do? My daughter and I would greatly appreciate it!!
