Laptop not turning on

I have a Toshiba Satellite A205-S5804 that will not turn on. All it does it when the power button is pressed all the leds will quickly flash once. If turned on without the battery and just the ac adapter the led on the AC adapter will go out and turn back on eventually. But battery or no battery the leds just quickly flash on the laptop. Any ideas? thanks!

Yeah, that was one of my posibilities. Is there any way to quickly check without spending a lot of time on it?

You can get good replacement motherboards on EBay for under $100. If you don't want to spend that kind of money for repair, be prepared to buy a replacement laptop

I just purchased a refurbished HP dv9500 for $95 including shipping from China. HP laptops along with most other brands are built in China. I always buy refurbished motherboards for my laptop repairs. I have a few out there running for 2 and 3 years now
