Laptop restaring

My laptop keeps shutting off after 5 minutes as if it was overheated any ideas why this might be happening?

The air vents/fan may be clogged with dust or animal hair...

Like Tmagic said, it is most likely a clogged fan. Look up online some directions on how to clean your laptop from dust or other dirt.

If the above suggestions don't work, you might check your power settings. Start>Control Panel>Power Options. Good luck.
