Lenovo expects tablets to account for 10 to 15 percent of the PC market this year. Lenovo's chief operating officer Rory Read made the comments to Reuters on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Tablets are certainly going to be the new form-factor for PCs, which means that all vendors that want to stay in the market are going to have to play ball. Lenovo's predictions are in line with estimates made by analysts, but even so we find them very optimistic.

Talking specifically about Lenovo's tablets, the company is waiting for Android 3.0 (codenamed Honeycomb). The company also recently hinted that it might work with NEC to sell such devices.

"We have an extreme focus on the innovation of LePad and LePhone because these products will dominate the future market," Liu Chuanzhi, Lenovo's Chairman, told Bloomberg. "Anyone who loses this battle will be phased out from the history of this industry. History has proved we are good at catching up with the market's leaders. Though Apple is winning a significant share in the Chinese market, it has not gained a clearly leading position yet. Our advantage is we know this market better."
