Limited or no connectivity issue

hi all,

I am having a problem with my wifi. i am currently using a 1000HE netbook. my pc crashed a few days ago and need to reformat my hdd and reinstall everything

everything was working like a charm in the past though

basically i am using a modem cum router to connect to the internet

if i uses the LAN line, i can connect to the internet without problem

but when i try to connect using wireless, it gave me the "limited or no connectivity issue"

again, i used the same netbook and same modem cum router in the past without problem.

not sure what's wrong this time

Did you install all the drivers for your netbook after you "reformatted"?

i found the problem. my wep password was incorrect. haha

but why i can still connect to my router if wep is incorrect?

You only need the password for wireless operation.

That's why we use WEP, WPA or WPA2 - - to stop access by those that don't know it
