I'm having major problems with My internet connection. It started happening after I installed TuneUp Utilities 2009. I checked their website and couldn't find an answer. I uninstalled it, but it didn't help. I have 2 computers connected via router. The problem only occurs on the main computer (the one I'm using now). I checked all the network settings against the other computer , and they are identical (TCP/IP, etc.). I'll be surfing the internet and everything is loading fine, then all of a sudden My connection just drops (no internet, email, etc.). Any ideas?

Contact your ISP, it may be caused by your modem or router, if you have one. Is XP updated to SP3?

try to see if you can recreate what your doing when it drops... does it just drop randomly when visiting any site, or is it certain sites?

Also, try to see if its happening after a specific interval. If its happening every 2 hours, or every 2 days or something.

Are you connected wireless, or wired?

Does it automatically reconnect, or does it drop and you have to restart the modem/router/pc?

Thanks for the replies. I restored a backup pont and it seems to have solved the problem
