Macbook Pro formatting

Hi all wondering on all options for doing full factory wipes on macbooks and pros normally I hold cmd and s at start up to get black screen put in a code to reset mac .. but then have to go delete old account ...is there a proper way to fully format with out disc ..thanks in advance all

A full reformat does require the Mac Tools Disk

Yes, it's a CD your order from Apple.

This is exactly like the issue on Windows; you need something to boot (ie a cd) in order to
reformat the attached HD.

Ok thank for yourr help just thought there might of been a key or some other way like on a windows laptop you can press like f4 f10 ctrl f10 etc to format..but thanks again

New Macs can format/install by holding Command+R on boot. But this isn't going to work for anything more than a year or two old.

I think you can do that by re intalling you OS
