I've looked up all I could about this problem. Building a new computer, took awhile to get it to boot up but now it does. However, when I try to install Vista, I get a Machine Check Error (ends with 9C). Is there anything I can do to narrow down what this problem is? Let me know what information you guys need to help and I'll tell you everything I can.

0x0000009C: MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION

This is a hardware issue: an unrecoverable hardware error has occurred. The parameters have different meanings depending on what type of CPU you have but, while diagnostic, rarely lead to a clear solution. Most commonly it results from overheating, from failed hardware (RAM, CPU, hardware bus, power supply, etc.), or from pushing hardware beyond its capabilities (e.g., overclocking a CPU).

As you can see the reason for this error is very diverse.

a. Are any of your components overclocked? If so try easing back on volage and timings.

b. Have you tested the RAM with memtest or the PSU with a multimeter?
