Massive leak reveals new information on the Nintendo NX

Thats not nintendos way they would most likely create their own proprietary connections in a hope it curbs piracy (which it wont)

You do realize that the newer nintendo DSs use micro SD cards for storage right? The Wii had usb ports from which you could side load stuff along an SD slot.

And does the DSs not have their own cartridge slots. And originally the Wii SD slot was added to appease customers after complaints of low storage space as it could have only been used to save games (might even have just been to backup save games). It was only later added support to install "channels" and games to the SD card which is pants due to the slow speed.

But you are missing the important part, even if they were added later or not:

You are replying yourself, they are not, they are using standard ports as additional to their proprietary systems. And even then if they use only proprietary standards like old DSs there were cartridges that will do it, who stops it from working on it.

This console is for the very young kids, I dont see any problem in the design. Kids will want to move the game from the couch to thei bedroom.

If they are catering this console to the much younger audience, then it should be ok. But I think this is a mistake to begin with. The cast majority of gamers today want a powerful system that is capable of playing the latest AAA games. This system does not sound capable of being able to play the hardcore titles that most gamers play and without this, it will ultimately fail. Nintendo's in house games will only keep the system afloat for so long. I hate to say it, but Nintendo needs to conform in some way in order to allow them to compete with Sony and Microsoft. They won't be able to create a successful market with this design plan.
