I've been wondering if that was the whole plan all along. Can't have those plebs building their own stuff you know.I believe they're planning on making PC gaming out of reach for the masses and having this as the only alternative

If people can handle dismantling the PS5 to add a hard drive, I'm sure those people won't have any issues doing something similar with graphics cards and memory.lol 90% of console base knows how to use a console. not build one. that will never happen.
But does it run your actual Xbox games, or just the PC version of your games who are also available on the Microsoft Store?
Personally speaking, I think that the gaming community has become too greedy for their own good. Always wanting more and more and guess what? We've hit the wall.PC hardware ranges from potato to near supercomputer, and even minimum specs to run some AAA games exceeds recommended specs for other games released the same year. It's difficult to imagine an console that is anywhere near affordable being able to play the most current PC games at the resolutions and framerates people expect, let alone future titles.
All comes down to price...
My recent PC build mid to higher spec (no 5090) for gaming cost $4k. Even if it cost half that, most won't want to pay that.
Its a PC that can run the XB API.
Better idea: Just let all PCs run the XB API.
