Microsoft wants you to know they've improved Windows 10 lately

I mean, outside of the screenshotting change, this seems more like bloatware to me.

It's safe to say Windows 10 has changed from the days where it was just a reskinned Windows 8.1 with a proper start menu, but I wouldn't really call it a massive improvement.
windows 8.1 was actually very stable, but the start menu is indeed crap

My W10 experience improved dramatically... since I've stopped updates a long time ago.
you will still need the security updates and allow it to automatically installed as soon as possible.
feature updates can be postponed for a year which should be enough to give microsoft stabilize them

but google and firefox disable hardware accelerated video decoding in the Linux version of their browsers. playing a youtube video consumes a whole cpu core.
One whole core huh? How could anybody in their right mind possibly deal with a loss like that?

Quick, it's time for you to dash out an buy a "Threadripper" (As if you needed an excuse).

So I should use windows because youtube might use a whole core ? I just tried it, On a 4K video the cpu does work for it but on the normal videos I watch it hardly has any impact. I didn't notice this at all day to day and would never have known had nobody said. So I guess it doesn't matter to me, I have 7 other cores to use if I need to.

I legitimately think Windows 8/8.1 gets unfair hate solely because of the mobile-oriented start screen they jammed in everyone's faces. I will say that before I installed anything else, even before my browser of choice, I would download and install the classic shell start menu.

Besides that one caveat, when Windows 10 first launched, it really didn't look or feel that different to me. The various feature updates have obviously changed that somewhat.

That "improvements" word is created by this Techspot article writer. A headline to grab clickbaits to be followed by more flamings in this comments section. *headshake*

Anyway, if you read the MS blog in the link above, these are some of the features added following the users' feedbacks.

The M$ blog, right. Who on earth posts on such a blog, if they're not a needy bunch of sycophants, groupies, and brown nosers?

They obviously don't give rat's patoot about how much the OS gets sludged up with additional bloatware.

Windows 10 - The endless treadmill to nowhere!
You asked for it and we delivered!

As you know, Microsoft listens to user feedback and makes improvements to Windows 10 based on suggestions from Windows insiders

Improvements like backdoors in the firewall and bitlocker encryption, blackmail and extortionary terms in the licensing agreement, bug bugs bugs galore and malware in everything we make

You wanted forced upgrades to Windows 10 and we delivered!

Then you asked if we could herd you into a smaller and smaller pen, severely limiting what the end user can do with our Operating Systems

We'd like to thank you for your feedback....
Because at Microsoft, we're working for YOU!

Google Web messenger is way better than Your Phone.

I'd like the UI to all look the same. That's what bothers me most. As for bloat, I'd cry more about bloat on my phone versus an above average PC. And pausing and delaying updates is a click away so I'm good.

W10 has been stable for me since day one.

Talk to me when MS fixes the sound crackling/pop issue that occurs anytime my PC wakes from sleep. It's been happening since the May 2019 update with random crackles in all audio. Only fix (bandage) is to restart but it re-occurs if the computer goes to sleep. There OS should be able to output sound properly right? Every other OS does.

Which audio driver are you using?

I had that problem on the optical Toslink port, but switching drivers fixed it

Windows Telemetry is not for finding and fixing problems
It's for an Illegal Spying Program!

Being coerced to agree with one sided Extortionary Licensing terms through blackmail does not make the terms "LEGAL"

Also on optical with a Topping DX3 Pro. Previously I was using my MB manufactures most recent Realtek driver then switched to the windows High Def AD driver (10.0.18362.1) on a Windows reset, same problem. I believe I've tried all the troubleshooting apparently on a google search, nothing works. It's a sleep issue. Only started after a Windows update, can't remember which one though. Maybe about a 1 year or 1.5 years now. Audio works perfectly until the PC goes to sleep, then only a reboot fixes the crackle. You'd think one of the most valuable companies in the world would be able to implement audio properly on their OS but nope, that's what 'networking' hiring gets you, average skill and lack of conscientiousness. Too many friend's cousins friend taking the spots of people with actual superior talent.
