To join the debate I'll say ambiguously that I REALLY like my new next gen console with Destiny, Diablo 3, GTA V and Shadow of Mordor.

It's not a dud generation. Going back to previous gen versions of these games is like smearing petroleum jelly in your eyes

How old are you? I have noticed a lot of the "this generation is falling flat" folks are 24+ while the fans of the current products tend to be younger.

Interesting. I'm definitely 24+ being a child of the 70s. My first games machine was a ZX Spectrum Ive spent plenty of time PC gaming too but being a techie and spending most of my days at a desk, I find I spend too much time getting sidetracked tweaking settings than when I'm just gaming on my console.
