Mozilla flips the switch on Firefox browser ads

I guess this explains why the New Tab button isn't showing my homepage any more .. it must have broken my addon. I'm getting tired of looking for new alternatives every few months when something gets broken ("improved") -- why can't they release a version of the browser that stays the same? (The same criticism applies to Windows but that's a whole other can of worms). It would be easy to create addons and maintain them if nothing changes. Should be simple to implement security updates without affecting addons. The browser is just a stepping stone to the internet, I don't need the stone to change shape or be a different colour (or push ads in my face). I just want to be able to depend on it as a means of getting to the Google search page. Hmm, now that Mozilla have got me thinking of new things, I wonder what Chrome is like...

I use the New Tab Homepage 0.4.3 add-in, when I click new tab, it will just displays my home page.

If they need my support I'm in!

Mozilla deserves love and I'm not backing away when they need it, which is probably the reason why they need to use adds to generate some revenue in order to support the huge campaign they've done.
...[ ]... so many people talking against ads in Firefox, either weren't around, or weren't paying attention (*), when Mozilla had to rely on Google money to stay afloat.

If it takes some ad revenue to make the foundation, "more independent (**)", then so be it.

(*) Then too, there's a growing segment of the American population who strongly believe they're entitled to everything for free.

(**) By "more independent", I'm referring to having to live under, "Google tyranny". Which, if you think about it, given all the tracking they do, isn't so far fetched a concept.

I mean really, the NSA just spies on you. Google spies on you, then rubs your nose in it by pumping every square inch of your screen they possibly can, full of "targeted ads".

I miss the old days when it was not a race for features, which translates into bloat, but a race for performance.

Do some browsing in IE 6, I dare you I double dare you, cool story bro btw.

A lot of performance has been gained through the use of "bloat", the thing is this far you don't even realize it because it's become standard.

The performance you talk about is bloated websites requiring bloated browsers to display correctly. It has nothing to do with old browser performance issues, because they were coded to display correctly at the time of their release. If you want to do a fair performance comparison, use a site that was coded for both time frames.
