MSI is the latest system builder to announce a gaming notebook with Nvidia's recently launched GeForce GTX 460M. The 15.6-inch GT663 sports a 720p or 1080p display resolution and boastfully carries "Intel's most advanced Core i7 quad core processor." An actual CPU model isn't provided, so we'll leave you to guess what's actually inside.

The machine can support up to 12GB of DDR3 1333MHz RAM and 1TB of storage, but the amount included will vary between sub-models of the GT663. It also features a DVD/Blu-ray drive, HDMI and VGA outputs, two USB 2.0/3.0 ports, one eSATA, a single Express Card slot, a 5-in-1 card reader, as well as gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and optional Bluetooth.

The GT663 comes standard with Windows 7 Home Premium and a nine-cell battery. No battery life is mentioned, but that's probably not on the top of your checklist anyway. There's also no release date or pricing, but MSI usually ships variations of a given model shortly after its initial introduction. US availability seems like a sure bet.

I have always been a MSI fan for their GPU choices of design. A laptop on the other hand, would be interesting to see how well it works out.

Those specs are sure to cause some intense heat... Are there more venting-holes than those 2 shown in the picture?, one might wonder.

Also, this beast is sure to punch your vaulet hard...

I've got an Asus G50VT-X5 and it is the same basic design case-wise. The CPU and GPU heat comes out of one vent. It gets hot but its never gotten to the point where I've had to shutdown (most have an auto shutdown feature nowadays). I'm probably going to recommend this laptop to a friend who is in the market for a gaming laptop after playing on mine.
