My DVD drive doesn't read CDs!

Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire 6935G...


This laptop can read DVDs normally, but if I insert CD, the drive is running, but it looks like there is something which stop it, then the drive works again and stop for a while.

This problem happens only with CD, everything is fine with DVD.

A CD/DVD drive has two lasers, one for CD's and one for DVD's. I suspect the CD laser has failed or it is simply in need of cleaning. You can get a CD/DVD cleaning disc from a computer store.

If the cleaner makes no improvement you will need to replace the drive.
