My laptop's sound system stopped working

My laptop model is HP 15-da0327tu and it so happened that after installing around 21 updates that showed up on the hp support assistant application, my laptop completely stopped producing any sort of sounds from its speakers and microphone. The sound symbol at the bottom of my laptop shows that its working completely fine and even after trouble shooting, it shows that there is no problem with the sound system of my laptop but the reality is completely different. Need assistance

"Can you tell me whether is there any solution to get my sound back?" Eventually, yes.

Due to the complexities of the sound system, it may take trying a dozen things. If you tried the 'fixes' provided above and they did not work, then you have to dig deeper.

Confirm description of audio (3 separate areas - Audio Inputs, Sound, video and game controllers, and System devices/High Definition Audio) in Device Manager - if in error, fix. Then inspect and adjust volume where ever you may find it - on my system such adjustment occurs in Windows10, in video playback, in browser - any one of which may be set to 'mute' audio. In one case, I could only get sound back by changing USB for the audio connection from one USB port to another which apparently allowed a reset I could not otherwise obtain.

Try the 'AUDIO CHECK' at https://support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics?category=computing&issue=sound-issues

Try Microsoft's troubleshooter https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026994/windows-10-fix-sound-problems

As you can see there are a lot of 'fixes' - due to the fact that AUDIO is a forest of bugs just waiting for the next 'update'.. and if anyone has a better solution, I'll be first in line.
