My Passport WD LAFHKA

My Passport external drive, is not seen on my PC , nor do you hear that chirp when you plug the usb in. You can see it getting power as the light goes on , and can hear the drive whirring. Installed WD utilities and getting message to plug in WD device. Ive spapped ports, wires and still nothing. Any ideas please?
