Hello - On the computer my son uses, there is some kind of program that is making audio come over the speakers. The audio is choppy, so you never hear anything clearly, except for the first couple of seconds when it starts up. After that, it is choppy. It also sounds distant. Like receiving an AM station weakly. The content is: commercials. I never hear a station identification, or a program, or music. just one of a few different commercials. As if you have one of those news site web pages that runs a little screen with commercials running all the time.

The audio level is responsive to the volume - so at least we can shut it off, but we cannot listen to videos or anything, since if we turn those up, the mystery audio also goes up.

This happens whether we open MS Explorer or not.

I cannot identify anything in the task manager - nothing seems to be using CPU time regularly, as the audio continues.

I ran Housecall online, and ran Spybot. These do not clear whatever is responsible.

I would suspect that somehow the computer was modulating radio signals, like a local radio station or a ham operator, but the constant commercial content kind of rules this out.

On this computer, we do interweb, minecraft (incl. with interweb access), goo0gle app store, a lego game, openoffice, and that is about it.

Any ideas?
