NEVER place application data in the \Program Files area.can I go to the Google Earth folder, C:\Program files (x86)\Google\Google Earth delete its contents & put the contents from the XP folder in there?
I copy/pasted dxdiag.exe in the search program files area & the above screen shot is what showed up.What does running dxdiag.exe tell you?
Edit:
Have you chosen to turn Windows Aero off?
Ok, thanks.NEVER place application data in the \Program Files area.
First, you would have to change the permissions to make that work, but in doing so, would also make it easier for a virus
to succeed.
- Rule 1: user data always goes into the user area %userprofile% which is in the \user\{yourLoginId}
- Rule 2: only applications install into \Program files or \Program files (x86)
- Rule3: only the system stores or modifies \Windows\*
- Rule4: ALWAY login to a UAC account
- You will be much happier and all those zeros and ones on your disk will thank you.
Thats only searching for the dxdiag.exe. Click on dxdiag.exe and run the program for a report of directx functionality.I copy/pasted dxdiag.exe in the search program files area & the above screen shot is what showed up.
If Windows Aero was turned on your window borders would be translucent. I can tell by your screenshot that Windows Aero is not enabled. I was wondering if you had chosen to disable Aero for some reason.I don't know if Windows Aero is off or on.
Thanks for explaining that. I was wondering why my FF wasn't like other W7 pc's I've seen.Thats only searching for the dxdiag.exe. Click on dxdiag.exe and run the program for a report of directx functionality.

Is that the way you typed it out because the image says 130101 not 131101?C:\Users\THOMAS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Google_Earth_7.0.2.8415_131101-143810_1.dmp
The image is correct. Thank you for correcting it. Had a looong sober day yesterday.Is that the way you typed it out because the image says 130101 not 131101?
"C:\Users\THOMAS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Google_Earth_7.0.2.8415_130101-143810_1.dmp"
Rabbot01, as I said in that post #44, the path don't exist. I've tried following it. IF I leave out "THOMAS~1", then go from AppData it still only goes to "Local & nothing after than.Don't know how big the dmp file is, but if it's small, maybe attach that to your post and hopefully someone can decipher and let you know what the problem is.
