Its been a few moons since Ive did a ground up PC build. Over the years I have upgraded my current rig countless times, which is now a Coffee Lake i7 9700 and GTX 1080. My old 600W PSU and Windtunnel case are worn out and without going into too much detail, its time to refresh! Theres some new games I want to check out, and I want this build future proof for atleast 5 or so years but nothing is guarenteed in this crazy world! Anyways whadda folks think of this build for 1440p 60-120Hz gaming? From my research the 9700X is a beast in games and I like team green for their ray tracing performance.

Whadda think? Anything you might tweak? All opinions are welcome, even if I may disagree I appreciate any insight.

Bumped it up to a 9900X, only $80 more. Might bump up the PSU too...

Bumped up to a 1000W PSU, and I can get W11 Home on ebay for $30. GPU prices are dropping so...not sure If I change that...

Going back to the 9700X. Looks like they fixed the CCD latency on the 9900X but, that chip is overkill for my purposes.

Gettin close...

Going to swap out the 9700X for the 9950X.
Ive looked at 1080p/1440p benchmarks for 40 games, its even overall but in 5 years the 16 core will be more future proof.
