New PC won't work

Hey so I have built a brand new PC I'm pretty sure I've done it all correctly I'm still waiting on a monitor so while waiting I decided to see if everything is ok I plug in the power and nothing no fans spinning nothing I check the hand back and it said that the monitor must be on first is this true or have I just messed up ?

i3
Thermaltake versa h22
Corsair power and RAM
1050 GPU

Most likely a connection is not fully 'made'. My first build, I failed to make the main power connection (a 20 pin back then). Another build (several years later) I had put the CPU in the wrong way.

It could also be a grounding connection to the case or several other things.

I would suggest that you pull everything out of the case and do a 'benchtop' rebuild - following steps in motherboard manual
