No audio device

I've been having sound problem, at first I couldn't only hear internet audio. Now there is no audio at all and volume icon is missing. I've tried a lot of solutions in the forums but still no sound. Everything under sound, video and game controllers is working properly. I downloaded audio driver and installed it but now it says soundmax audio present you cannot use soundmax control panel. Please help!!
