No display after turning on the computer

i have a compaq presario sr5202hm when i start my computer the screen will not come on it just blinks no input signal on the monitor

Well, first things first. Make sure all cables are plugged in correctly, all the way. Never hurts to check.
Chances are you know how to plug in your monitor so we wont spend anymore time on that. Could you give some more details about your system? What hardware are your running? Does the system have integrated video or a dedicated graphics card?
