What really “surprised “ me was observing my youtube feed that showed all the reviewers with the same conclusion, yet mr LTT himself had the balls to post a review thats simply insane.

I had low expectations of fairness on their reviews, but this confirms that they are paid for.

That said, when this bs of not being able to buy a gpu is over, we will have to thanks nvidia for these ridiculous msrp prices.

I can only imagine what “nice” surprises they will have for the industry if they are allowed to buy ARM.

Given the incredible difficulty in purchasing a new video card, perhaps more articles showing gamers how to optimize games for their older hardware would be useful. Most games look excellent at a mix of medium high settings, but you have to know which settings to turn down and which ones to max out. Games like Gears of War are good in this regard since they tell you which settings affect framerate the most.

+1. So many games can run +10-70% faster yet look little different with a bit of intelligent tweaking, yet I haven't seen any tech site produce an actual useful up to date guide in years. It's all the same tired old e-peen obsessed "Ultra only" and reviews for GPU's no-one can buy anyway...

You can't do 12GB on 256bit memory bus without resorting to some tricks which will impact performance. Remember GTX 970?

What they should have done for RTX 3070 Ti is simple. Just like the RTX 3080 mobile, they should enabled the full core, double the amount of GDDR6 to 16GB, but use a faster variant, I.e. 16 or 18 Gbps. Not sure what madness came over them to use GDDR6X when they would have known that it brings very marginal improvement to performance during their internal testing, but also increase power consumption greatly. Since Samsung produce 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory, it makes sense to get it from them since the chip is anyway fab by Samsung.

Did I say anywhere you could do 12GB on 256bit. Leaving it at 8GB is a pathetically stupid move. Anyway 3080 is a far better buy, well it would be in a normal world.

You could write a review that says the RTX 3070 Ti is literally a block of polished poop, doesn't matter, it will sell out before anyone has a change to get one.

If you can get a 3070 ti at MSRP then that’s a very good deal. These prices aren’t coming down, the community and Techspot need to get to grips with this otherwise literally every product they review will just be another unprofessional ad hominem against a manufacturer because they charge more than they personally wish to pay. These are luxury items, you aren’t owed a low price.

Most U.K. retailers are charging more for a 3060 than Nvidia want for the ti. Not scalpers, retailers like overclockers etc. Wake up everyone it’s 2021, PC gaming is no longer for the poor and I can’t see it changing for years.

The total system power draw between the 3070 and 3070Ti is significant - according to the chart above.

Around 370W for the 3070 system and around 510 for the Ti model. That's almost a 40% increase in power draw for only about a 10% increase in FPS.

I'd much rather have a more power efficient 3070 over a 3070Ti with the performance being so close.

The relative inefficiency and unimpressive uptick in performance makes the 3070 Ti far less desirable as per my preferences.

600$ is a joke...very hard to find the Gigabyte Ti model. Gigabyte has a 850$ model and others have mostly 850$ and 1000$ models. Cannot figure what AIBs put in the card to so increase their asking prices. Still only seeking a plain-Jane 3070 or a 3060 Ti...and would even live with a regular 3060, if they ever release LHR models. I am sick of the scalpers with their unconscionable pricing...and growing to hate miners more than ever. Would like to see Governments get together and 'take them down.' OMHO. Thanks for the good review...you're kinder to the 3070 Ti than most YouTube reviews,. Personally, I think NVIDIA totally failed us enthusiasts and gamers with the 3070 Ti and ESPECIALLY the 3080 Ti.

You can't "ad hominem" a manufacturer it literally means "to the person". Even if you were using the term correctly it wouldn't apply here as this is just an opinion you don't happen to agree with. They're not saying this card is bad value because of some trait of Nvidia's they don't find appealing.

For example If I said don't listen to Shadowboxer's arguments because he's a fanboy that's an ad hominem (which is not always fallacious).

Steve is not out of date. MSRP is quoted by Nvidia, and since it is not amended, there's no fault comparing what we see in 2021 against 2020. In addition, I am not sure if Nvidia's FE cards are still being sold at MSRP. If so, then again, it shows that the MSRP is still valid.

PC gaming have never changed over the years. You want cutting edge graphics, you pay more for cutting edge hardware. If you are a budget gamer, one either go with APU or a lower end card and settle for lower settings. That's the whole idea gaming on PC since you have the flexibility of lowering graphic settings.
