Panasonic Smart TV TX-58AX802B cannot find DVB channels on setup

I have a Panasonic Smart TV that had a fault which I couldn't resolve.
Let me explain what went on to get the problem.
Last Sunday I deleted the Youtube App and changed my Home Page. I was having a problem as the Youtube App had stopped working. I couldn't resolve the problem so I left it.
When I switched on the TV on Monday it went straight to my homepage but kept on refreshing the page without me doing anything. I then established that I could not use the remote control to do anything - except turn the TV off and on.
After many hours on Google I was no nearer getting the remote / TV to work. Sky came through on HDMi but even when watching a SKY channel, the TV start page banner kept appearing at the top of the screen and a message saying "Press APS to activate your Applications".
So I decided to do a factory reset.
When the box comes back on it found my router / network and then got stuck on finding DVB stations. It started to search but stopped after 5 or so seconds and returned to the start of that sequence.
Obviously, I tried this a few times but with the same result.
Before this episode, the TV had no problems searching for and updating DVB channels.
From the aerial, the cable comes in to an amplified splitter and there are 4 outlets to different TV's in other parts of the house. Each of these TV's could search for DVB channels successfully. So I know the problem is not the aerial, the cable or the splitter. Just to confirm that, I took the cable from the aerial directly to the problem TV but it still will not search for DVB channels.
So until I can get the TV to find some DVB channels it will not go further in the First Step Setup.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
