Password locked can't get in

I have and older toshiba laptop that I bought that is locked with a password.I need to get around it to open computer.used computer

May be done in some cases...'google' with make and model might provide a technique.. some machines, especially, more recent ones, are effectively bricked.

An easy method is to enable the default admin account. or simply reinstall the os.

The first two methods are free,you can try the last one if the previous two methods don't work for you to reset password ,but the last one has to pay some money

You can use NTPASSWD to reset the admin password or try booting SAFE MODE (widely documented) and trying the administrator account to change your password.
