PC to HDTV problem

HI I have installed an HDMI cable from my HDTV to my Pc which has a Dvi connection plus a seperate audio cable.The problem is i put the HDMI connection on the TV to recieve the Computer playing a programme on BBC I player but the tele says no incoming signal,tried it in the other two hdmi connections still no joy,any idea where i might be going wrong is it the computer end or the television.Regards Martin.

issue #1 DVI is Digital Video and while it can connect to HDMI (which carries both audio & video), DVI carries only video. So DVI output on the PC immediately drops all audio.

Hi, Maybe i explained it wrongly,there is no video or audio showing on the television,the audio is plugged into the audio out and on the tv audio in.Regards Martin
