PC tripping off

Gentle men am using a Sony Vaio but of recent when i start my system it will boot 4 a while comes up n suddenly trips off. what could be the cause of this.

Could be many things. Have you recently installed any hardware or software? What OS are you running? Could be just a corrupt Windows file or a defective driver. Can you start the computer in safe mode?
