Ping goes above 1000

So I do a lot of online gaming through steam Rust, Csgo etc but yesterday anytime I join a server or attempt my ping goes above 1000 sometimes higher and the internet runs slow until I leave the server then it goes back to normal (I did speed tests before and after I joined a server Before - 30MS After - 500MS) I tried restarting my router I'm wirelsss and never have had this problem before it's been 24 hours since it's been happening please help me

Find the server you are connecting to (say name xyz.com or ip 1.2.3.4)
get a command prompt and enter

pathping xyz.com (or pathping 1.2.3.4)​

and wait for it to complete

There's every possibility that the server is just overloaded - - OR some node in the path to it is acting badly.
