I don't generally like cases with fans in the center of the side panel. I don't understand what they could possibly cool, besides the lower half of your RAM. And it really disrupts a good S shaped airflow. I'd like to see a StormBringer-esque smoke test in a case that has a fan there. It sure wouldn't be optimal, and it seems to me like the fan is only there for decoration purposes. Fans should be kept in an intake at the front and exhaust at the rear pattern, with perhaps a fan over the video card/PCI slots. Plus, a fan at the top is always good. This would be optimal.

I am thinking about the Antec SX1040BII. It looks nice and has a 400w power supply. I can get it locally for $89.60

Yeah merlin, that's the one. I would say get it. As I said, Antec makes great cases and even better power supplies.
