Please help with deleted partition

Hey guys,

So this is my problem:

I have a 500GB Maxtor Hard disk, and I went to install windows xp, but during the installation i saw that it was split into different partitions. I have no idea why but i deleted one of them. Now i think the entire hard disk is screwed up. When i connected it to my laptop using a SATA docking station, under disk management it gives me my C drive which is disk 0 and it gives me the Maxtor hard disk which is disk 1. But disk 1 is split into 100mb, 60Gb and 405.66 GB with the 405.66 being unallocated. What should i do to make it 1 500GB harddisk.

Assuming the disk does not contain an operating system, or any personal data you need, just remove the partitions, so the whole disk is unallocated, then create a simple partition the entire size of the disk e.g. 465GB in size.
