Possible bug with alerts

On main screen my profile box may indicate a fresh forum post that I am following, but then says an error has occurred (of course, it might refer to the spelling):

Yes, except instead of showing the link to the specific post it states that there is an error. This does not appear if I am in the Forum pages - just the main page and typically the article pages.

Seems fixed now. oops, spoke too soon. 'error occurred'

Comes and goes. Visiting forum 'fixes it' until I enter main screen from bookmark.

No, actually I've seen that bug, too. But it's hard to replicate.
The bug is only present on the main site (reviews, news, etc.) but the forums work well and "fix" the bug for the rest of the site.

If I may, can you tell me if you were seeing this on your mobile device or desktop PC?
OS/browser info would help a lot. Thanks!
