Printer Error in 98,  PCI??

  1. Help. Recently wiped clean my P-3 500 aned reloaded win 98. System runs great compared to before, but one hitch. My printer, an epson 480 sxu won't work. I get a message claiming a communication error with a PCI device? But my printer is USB? WHen looking at control panel/system the PCI device line has yellow questions marks when I click on it, it needs drivers installed, but I don't know what device drivers I should be reloading? I already reloaded the Epson drivers, but that didn't make any difference. I "removed" the printer, rebooted and reinstalled it, still no printer.

Any, all help would be appreciated....

How about downloading the latest driver from the Epson website and installing that?

Maybe you'll have better luck with it. :)

You need W98SE and separate, updated (motherboard/chipset) drivers for USB, before that printer can work.
