You probably downloaded the DCH version that cannot be install on top of a normal version. Head to Guru3d driver download for clearer download options as some website do not indicate if the it's the DCH version or not
DCH version only come with the driver, you have to download the control panel via Microsoft Store, the normal version will come with the Nvidia control panel.
