Problem with Wireless on Windows XP

Hello!

I'm currently running Windows XP on my desktop computer. I recently tore her appart, cleaned and rebuilt her. I am having issues with getting my wireless card to read with my wireless modem. The modem I have is a standard modem issued by Charter Communications, it can hold up to a max of 5 wireless connections at one time. I was having issues before replacing routers (the last one liked lightening a little too much).

I have a Linksys Compact Wireless-G network adapter that I have used: model number WUSB54GSC v. 2. I have done everything I could think of to get the computer running with it. It connects to the computer fine and will connect to the modem for about 3 minutes max then disconnects from the router. It shows that I am still receiving signal from the router and it is still connected.

Any ideas what is going on and what I can do to fix it?

Thanks!
