Now i took my friends Laptop because there was problems,i think he had viruses and stuff.. it is EASYNOTE ML61-B-743NCD.(packard bell) the problem is, that i installed windows xp on it, and the main windows was vista. and i went to packard bell site for drivers, and there were only drivers for windows vista. any sullutions?

P.S. PC is new, but no discs etc. i went to shop and asked for them, they said we don't have..so the only way was to do windows xp on it.
P.S.S. after reinstall of windows, the laptop lost its functions like closing it goes to hibernate(or sleep i dont know :)) it is just like plain windows on desktop.i hope that with drivers it will fix...

Another problem. my computer is strangly slowly loading sites. i mean downloading with <BitComet> works fine, but the sites don't.(the main page loads fast) but the other pages, like google techspot etc. loads verrry slowly. but when i went to search on www.packardbell.com, it loaded faster, but not all the speed. i think its a virus or something.

hopefully i get good answers! really waiting ;) and thanks for reading :)

In the PB forums, they specifically state that they support Vista, and that XP drivers will need to be obtained from the makers of the components...
To identify the hardware for which you need drivers, they recommend http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

However... We do have driver support right here on TechSpot.
Is it safe to assume that you have xp up and running with minimal drivers?
If so, then Right Click on My Computer -> Properties -> Device Manager
OR Go to Start->ControlPanel-> System-> hardware (tab) -> Device Manager (Button)
This will give you a list of Devices on your system.
Those with Yellow Triangles need drivers...
Those with Red X are disabled.

Using this list and the thread by Kimsland, you should be able to find appropriate drivers. See https://www.techspot.com/vb/topic117607.html.

For example... On My XP Home Sp3 system
My Computer Properties Device Manager - Display Adapter...
Right Click for a dropdown and select properties. The Details tab provides...
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3582&SUBSYS_203A161F&REV_02\3&61AAA01&0&11
For an
Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics controller.
This information is what is needed in order to find the right driver for My Gateway.

If you run into snags, post again and someone may be able to help you find drivers for specific devices.
I would suggest a new thread here -> https://www.techspot.com/vb/menu23.html

when i tried to install ATI catalyst thing, it said it didn't find any compatible device in my computer. and i don't really know which driver for wi-fi should i install because belarc don't list it..

EDIT:

he codes i found:
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_0781&SUBSYS_27901814&REV_00\4&11F8B95B&0&0020
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_C2151631&REV_00\4&2770B40E&0&0010

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0272&SUBSYS_10EC0272&REV_1000\4&1D737CE4&0&0001
but theese are not all. theese are the most needed ones..

EDIT2:
well i had 2 ? audio question marks. after i installed audio driver, one dissapeared. and another one left..

Moderator Might Move this to Driver SubBoard, but meanwhile...

Question is probably more appropriate as a thread under drivers, but, given that it is here,
see if these help you...

Realtek 272 High Definition Audio (may be the same as... Realtek ALC269/272 High Definition Audio Driver)
Audio drivers available for download from the Realtek website are general drivers for our audio ICs, and may not offer the customizations made by your system/motherboard manufacturer. To be sure you obtain the full features/customizations provided in your original audio product, please download the latest drivers from your system/motherboard manufacturer's website.
But we already know that they don't support with xp drivers, so...

Re: Video Drivers... I think I have seen information that some Catalyst drivers require Net Framework 3.5 which is getting significant negative press here of late. You might want to search the site for more information before selecting your driver options. The latest may not necessarily be the best in every case.

Already answered, partially at least)
VEN_1002 = ATI, therefore pointing to a video card.
Recommend uninstalling this from the system devices, and let windows re-recognize when you boot next.
Otherwise, point it to your video drivers, already installed, and see if it will correct itself.
If you posted the question in the drivers area, others (more experienced) might see this and jump on it with better help.

I think I need a little more information. OR... maybe my reply has given you enough hints that you can now do your own research?

Just re-read your opening post...

Final Note - You are using P2P software: that opens you up to all kinds of bad stuff.
Recommend that you stop using Torrent / P2P / Filesharing software!
When (not if, when!) you get infected, those on the VIrus and Malware board will simply repeat this to you, and likely will not help until you get rid of it.
I am done. Other things to do now.

I think I need a little more information.

Ask any information you need. but i think that if i post the page of the computer, it's enought? just ask :)
go Here for the Information page.

There are web pages in Swedish etc on Bluetooth with your system,
but I cannot read Swedish, Dansk, Icelandic, etc... so, on this one you will have to do your own digging.

Again... I cannot stress this enough... and reading your concern about a possible virus,
I would highly recommend going over to the Virus and Malware board, and start with the stickies at the top (3 notes by Julio).

Mayby you can give me the information you know in swedish etc.? because, im from norway, i could possibly try to read it. thanks!
