Qualcomm is bringing CD-quality sound over Bluetooth through aptX Lossless

To me, it does sound like mediocre, wireless gaming headphones.
And yes, I try a lot of headphones, including Razer ones.
Gaming equipment is usually one of the worst when it comes to sound quality / price proposition, and Barracuda X is a really good example of it.
Blackshark V2 would probably be groundbreaking for you :D - meaning in a good way.
Wired headphones really dependent on the DAC and power you use, what DAC are you using? The built-in amp of Barracuda X is really great, and because it is internally battery powered, audio quality is super clean, less noise induced jitter too.

Good headphones indeed are a lot DAC/AMP dependant - Razer like headphones are more than fine with recent Realteks like ALC1200 that are, quality wise, on a much higher level than said headphones.
Build in DAC/AMP in Barracuda X is most likely really cheap and produces noise on lower levels - hopefully they were at least able to "cut the power" when you do not listen to anything.
Hopefully, not willing to test it.

I use quite a few DACs and AMPs, some examples might be SoundBlaster X7 LE, TempoTec Sonata E35, Grace m920, Hidizs S9 Pro, Topping D90/A90 etc.

Not going to happen any time soon and not just because of Bluetooth ... you have to pack amplifier and DAC in wireless headphones as well.
Try to integrate that, isolate and not end up with a $2000, 500+g brick on your head ...
Are you threatening me ? LOL .
I thought the whole good quality sound over bluetooth was solved , years ago. Hmm apparently the ads lied ...

:D Never thought that it will sound so ominous.
Sound quality of signal over the BT, while using LDAC, is quite close to "wire experience", but the rest of the chain will bring quality down.
+ Sony ads lie all the time, :D their DSEE is certainly a joke when it comes to "restoring" quality or simply sounding "better".
