Broni, the virus has the computer locked so that once I open onto my homepage, the FBI ransom letter comes on and won't allow me to do anything.

Have created the Kapersky Rescue disc, but am unable to locate a Boot Menu on the affected computer using the various combinations given. Jim

Did you try to boot from created CD?
Possibly your computer is already set to boot from a CD.

What brand of computer is it?

Trying to find the boot menu using a thumb drive and following the instructions given for the removable drive. The computer is an Acer Aspire laptop. Thanks, Jim

You need to enter BIOS to check boot order.
Acer (Aspire, Power, Veriton, Extensa, Ferrari, TravelMate, Altos): Press [F2] or [Del] Immediately After Power Up

Put the kapersky rescue disc on a cd and tried that avenue on their instructions. Started the laptop with the Del. button as before and am still unable to locate a Bios/Boot menu. Not sure what you mean re: boot order. Jim

I'm afraid you you'll need get some help from someone who knows a little bit more about computers.
I can't really explain my instructions any better.
Possible a friend or a family members can give you a hand.
