I would've bought this one were it not for the maximum of 16GB memory.

Instead I got an Asus Zephyrus G14 which supports more memory and also has a brighter screen with a better color gamut.

Still prefer Razer's styling and build quality, though.

The 3060 and 3070 are kinda expensive and the 3050Ti in my opinion is too weak for some newer games unless you stick to 1080p.

Once again...razorblade is over priced on 3060/3070/3080's for their laptops..... all should be $500 less in their respective classes

That's the high price I pay for the portability I need. I wouldn't wish gaming on a 9900K @ 5 GHz., and 210 watt desktop 2080 on my worst enemy! :D
Don't get me wrong, I have a craptop myself, also for portability. The thing is, I won't pay tons of money for a gaming-grade craptop. I have an ASUS Vivobook with an R5-3500U/Vega 8 (Whatever Vega 8 means) with a mobile GTX 1050. It cost me about $700CAD and is great for non-gaming tasks.

For gaming, well, that's what my desktop R5-3600X and RX 5700 XT are for. I've learnt that a high-end gaming craptop costs more than a mainstream craptop and a gaming desktop combined.

I don't call them craptops because I don't like them. I call them craptops because they're disposable, like any brand-in-a-box desktop PC like Dell, HP or Lenovo. To me, that's kinda crappy.

Thanks for the review. So, the HW is not getting to its full potential, AND, it is bl**dy loud too, but hey, it is small, thin and sexy. I really do wonder who do they design these products, and much, much more importnantly, will peaople actually buy them?

I have had a few gaming laptops, all much thicker and bigger than this, and was always wishing they were a bit chunkier. I would be happily carrying around a pound more, if it meant a better performing machine (and don't get me started with the "necessity" of 4K screens on 15.6", or even at 17.3)

I wish these HW elements were implemented in a nice, chunky laptop (a bit like old Alienware), so we could use their potential to the full, and/or it would be less hot and less loud. I keep dreaming :)

Razer syn. Overpriced.

I find it counterproductive to produce a "sleek", thin, "sexy" laptops which run hot, loud and uncomfortable.

I guess that's what they mean by 'hot and sexy'.

I was about to make almost the same post!
I still use my Alienware 18 - it has dual Nvidia 880s and a Quad Core Haswell... While it may not play top of the line games any more, it still works great and is far superior to the crap my school board gives us to use with the kids.

Wish they made laptops like this still... I'd love a 3090 inside a 3 inch thick monster :)

Well, with GPU pricing and availability as it is right now, high-end gaming "craptop" of the same performance as a desktop costs pretty much the same. Your statement would be true without GPU prices inflated 2-4 times, depending on the segment. You can find Ryzen 4600H/1650 laptops only slightly more expensive than a desktop 1650 GPU alone right now - and most likely cheaper than a full PC build, even without display. 5700XT has performance similar to RTX3070 mobile, I assume. On nowadays market yours GPU is worth anything between 700 and 1300 bucks, add CPU, RAM, PSU, SSD, case and mobo and you'll land around the price of a 3070 based laptop.

They're probably as good as anyone else. The vast majority of these "manufacturers" are anything but. Most of these craptops are made by a company in Taiwan called Quanta Computer. These brands just buy a Quanta design, modify it a little and throw their branding on them.

That is kind of my problem. You look at these things wrong, and it seems like they can break.

I have to wonder if Razer would have gotten better performance by choosing lower-end parts that would be able to run at their full capacity in this design instead of parts that throttle.

(Less opportunity for marketing, but probably a better product.)

I wonder why is Razer always over priced in every niche they operate. Be it peripherals, laptops, mobiles phones, when there are other present at a much cheaper price.
