Really need help! Internet issue!

Hey so I don't know hardly anything about computers and I don't know what's wrong with my computer so I'll try to explain.

A forum site that I frequent is suddenly blocked from my computer.
I just to go to it and it say its unable to connect to the server. I know the website isn't down because I can access it on my phone.
I know I wasn't banned.

I'm using firefox if that helps.

I believe I have a virus or something that I've had for a while but it really hasn't been active in many months. The virus doesn't allow me to internet explorer or any other internet browser.

Help please!!!
