Reformatting Gateway CX2720 with XP

I have a Gateway notebook CX2720 that I replaced the Hatachi hard drive in. I need recovery software for XP serv pack 3 and the laptop drivers. Gateway says i'm not supported anymore. How do i get the software i need to load this bare hard drive? All i have in the house is Dell software recovery disks.

If the laptop has a key for XP (and chances are its going to be one thats locked to a gateway Image) then you will need the gateway XP cd, if these arent available then your only option is to buy a copy of XP with a licence key and install XP with that, the drivers shouldnt be hard to find.

You wont be using a recovery cd with this method and if you havent installed windows before you had best do a google on the subject before hand to see whats involved.

Since Gateway won't talk to me, I guess I have to buy a copy. Do you know who who has the best prices?
